4.0 out of 5 stars Spell Binding - Great Read, April 21 2004
By A Customer
This suspenseful thriller kept me on the edge. It is a fast moving story with characters you will instantly want to win. This was my first mystery by Sottoline and now finishing my seventh in three weeks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rough Justice, Jan 16 2004
By A Customer
I would have enjoyed the book more if the author would keep her
liberal politics out of the book & her other books as well.
I wonder how ms. Scottoline would feel if she were reading a good
novel by another author, and there was a comment put in the book
such as 'there is nothing worse on this planet then a liberal
democrat'.

3.0 out of 5 stars Confused by the ending, Jul 28 2003
By A Customer
This is not my favorite Lisa Scottoline book but it is a fast-paced book that's good for beach reading. Sit back in the sun and watch events unfold during one of the worst snowstorms Philly has ever experienced.

As other reviewers have pointed out the fact that all the events happened in well under 24 hours in the midst of the "storm of the century" is unbelievable. I liked all the female characters (both good and bad) but wish we saw more of Bennie Rosato.

I don't want to spoil the ending for those who haven't read it yet but I didn't get it. Why do the police arrive at the Court House steps? How did they get their information? Surely jurist Christopher didn't know enough to provide them with information. And our heroines were too busy trying to put all the pieces together. Because of this I came away unsatisfied.

1.0 out of 5 stars Grade B Movie Quality

1.0 out of 5 stars Her worst so far.
Totally ridiculous. If her client, before the jury is even in, confesses to the killing, and if she was so inclined, it
seems to me she could just TELL SOMEONE. Read more

This book is just plain fun - and just plain exciting! I loved watching Scottoline set up her ducks and knock them down, loved the nail-biting setup, however implausible some... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but could've been better
I've never much cared for legal thrillers. John Grisham, for example, is a yawn. But since I've given up my usual fiction genre (romance) for Lent, I decided to give Lisa... Read more
