From Publishers Weekly

Starred Review. With this grin-on-your-face, hair-streaming-in-the-wind joyride of a novel, Enoch (England's Perfect Hero) takes a confident leap from historical to contemporary, giving readers a sensual romantic caper sure to win applause. Lightly modeled on To Catch a Thief, this tale launches with Samantha Jellicoe, cat burglar extraordinaire, breaking into the Palm Beach mansion of fabulously wealthy businessman Richard Addison, then saving Richard's life when a bomb is triggered halfway through her heist. Was the bomb designed to destroy evidence of an earlier theft, to kill Richard or to target Sam? With Richard wanting answers and Sam needing to clear herself of a murder charge, this unlikely duo teams up in an investigation that goes from professional to personal faster than you can say "counterfeit Picasso." But with each clue discovered—and each new murder attempt—the puzzle grows more elaborate. Refreshingly, Enoch makes no excuses for Sam's shady career choice or Richard's business ruthlessness, relying on the characters to create their own sympathy, and while Sam and Richard take tentative steps toward a real relationship, Enoch's surefootedness is apparent on every page. Though some readers may be disappointed by the lack of a traditional happily-ever-after, others will cheerfully await Sam and Richard's next adventure.

Product Description

In her dazzling romantic suspense debut, USA Today bestselling author Suzanne Enoch brings us a thrilling tale about a thief who needs to prove she's no murderer and the millionaire who loves her.

Samantha Jellicoe is a thief and proud of it. Raised to appreciate the finer things in life, Sam has no trouble divesting the wealthy of their treasures. This all changed, however, the night she attempts to steal a valuable item from a Palm Beach estate. Before she knew what hit her, a bomb goes off, a guard is killed, and Sam ends up saving millionaire Richard Addison. She's a good thief and will own up to her jobs, but if anyone thinks to tie her to murder, they better think again.

On any other night, having a one hundred plus pounds of female fling herself at you is a good thing. But on this particular night, Richard Addison is mad as hell. Not only did he just have his gallery blown up-with him about to enter it-but the woman who rescued him didn't stick around to offer any explanations. When the dust settles, Rick knows the only person with answers to his questions is the mystery woman. And if she thinks she can hide from him, she better think again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Enjoyable, Feb 21 2006
By G. Marchewka "book addict" (Saskatchewan) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I really enjoyed this book. This is the first I have read of Ms. Enoch, and as I understand it, this book is her first foray into contemporary romance, with most of her other books being historical/regency romance. I will definitely be looking to read more of her work.

Richard and Sam were fun to read about. Admittingly, it seems a little improbable that Richard could put aside the fact that Sam broke into his house as quickly as he did, but hey, it's entertaining. All Sam knows is a life of stealing, or as she sometimes puts it, "relocating" items, but it's not what she really wants to do. Richard seems to recognize this, and looks beyond it to see who Sam really is. The banter between the two is amusing and lively, and the chemistry between them is HOT.

Richard and Sam's story continues with "Don't Look Down". I already have it on my wishlist.
