Product Description

From School Library Journal

Grade 4-6. Sally, 10, and her daring friend Thalia want to win the show jumping and pairs' cross-country at the Tarent Horse Show. They are thrilled to be invited to practice with the Pony Club members. The adventures that follow include saving a gentle horse from a boring riding-school destiny, rescuing Thalia's horse from disaster in a bog, and preparing for the various jumps at the show. Tension leading up to the competition strains the girls' friendship. Sally is nervous but her horse is dependable. Thalia is headstrong and her horse is explosive, making it difficult for them to enter as a pair. Leitch's writing shows an understanding of young girls' quarrels. She is also sympathetic to their sense of loyalty and fair play. All the characters are strong and well developed. Descriptions of the British countryside provide a picturesque setting for the activities, but the author concentrates more on action than on relationships. A worthy addition for horse lovers.?Betty Teague, Blythe Academy of Languages, Greenville, SC

It's really easy reading, it's about a girl and her friend who go on adventures with their horses.
