5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Feb 17 2009
By Mom Bear (B.C., Canada) - See all my reviews
I absolutely loved this book. Although I'm an adult, I found myself captivated by the world of the Amazon. I read this book to preview it for my 10 year old daughter and it reminded me of all those books I lost myself in when I was her age. It was absolutely magical. I especially liked the characters in the book. I highly recommend this book to kids from the age of 9 to 14 or so.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Awsome Read, Feb 13 2007
By Lucy Mantle "luma" (Queensland, Australia) - See all my reviews
I've only started JOurney To The River Sea and i'm already right into it. The characters and the story are just mind blowing. Maia, the herione, is a strong, couragous girl who sails from england into the unknown Amazon. But everything is not as she imgained. Her only friend seems to be Miss Minton, who is a kind but effficent governess who brings maia out from England to the Amazon.
You won't believe the adventures she gets up too in this strange and unfamiliar place.

5.0 out of 5 stars A funfilled andventure to the river sea, May 27 2004
By A Customer
I have to say, Journey to the river sea was the best book I've ever read in my live. Maia, the heroine of the story, has gone with her new governess, Miss Minton to the amazon because there, her only relations are living. Because when she was little, her parents tragicly died.
In the amazon, they meet an actor, an heir to a great estate and put their lives in danger to help their frinds.
This is a brilliant story of friendship, love and loss.
