Product Description

Ridge Hawkins doesn't take the job of sheriff lightly-and Tanglewood, Nevada's transformation from outlaw outpost to civilized small town is proof of his respect for the law. Ridge doesn't expect trouble from the new schoolteacher, but when she arrives with a precocious daughter in tow-and the suspicious air of a woman harboring a secret-Ridge knows he won't hesitate to deliver it. Sophie Dolan has never taught a day of school in her life, but she's willing to do anything to keep little Jenna safely away from someone who wants to exploit the child's gift of sight. The fact that Jenna is her sister, not her daughter, is only one of the things Sophie needs to hide-and after one run-in with Ridge, she knows exactly whom she has to hide the truth from. The problem is, Sophie has the sight herself, and she knows that the no-nonsense sheriff has not only guessed her secrets, but stolen her heart. AUTHORBIO: KATHLEEN KANE is a native Californian, who still spends most of her time longing for an actual change of season. When she isn't staring out the window daydreaming (she refers to this as plotting), she's writing historical novels with just a touch of wonder in them. She's been married forever to a very patient man, has two grown children and a psychic Golden Retriever. She loves to travel and incorporates most of her 'adventures' into her stories. She also loves to hear from her readers. Visit her website at www.kathleenkane.com or write to her at: P.O. Box 1883, Westminster, California 92684-1883.

This book caught your interest with its storyline, but Sophie left a trail anyone could have followed. It was an OK story but I just felt that something was missing.

4.0étoiles sur 5 A PLEASANT SURPRISE!, Janv. 15 2002

Gee, had I remembered that Kathleen Kane also wrote DREAMWEAVER, I would have never ordered this book. Thank goodness I forgot. Unlike DREAMWEAVER, this is a great book. Wonderful characters that you'll love and worry about. The not so typical woman in jeopardy book with our heroine and her young sister "blessed" with second sight. A hunky hero to take care of them. A crafty villian to threaten them. Humor, sexy love scenes. . .hey, what more could you ask? If you're looking for another good one, try NOBODY'S DARLING by Teresa Medeiros. A five star keeper!

5.0étoiles sur 5 A page turner!, Aoû 26 2001
The Dolan women have always been different. They see things that only God should, and people donï¿t even pause long enough to let them explain. When Jennaï¿s life is endangered by a man who wants her gift, her sister Sophie does the only thing she can think of, she kidnaps her own sister. Tanglewood, Nevada is a small sleepy town, where Sophie believes she will be safe and unnoticed, until she meets the sheriff. This book was wonderful, a page-turner. My husband got mad at me, because I wouldnï¿t put down the book. I simply HAD to see what happened next! The author seemed to weave a spell around her characters that pulled me in and refused to let go. Highly recommended! Reviewed by Kim Blair
