Grade 9 Up-Moving from Manhattan's elite world to "Hollyweird" presents Anna with quite a culture shock, but one that she's ready for. She discovers that all is not without controversy in LaLa land, and that beautiful girls are not always welcome in the inner circle, especially those who pick up the hunk whom all the insiders are lusting after. After surviving the evil competitors, bad yogurt, and a vengeful seatmate on the plane, Anna proves that gorgeous good girls can, and do, survive in L.A. All of those nasty, high-society types that populate the "Gossip Girl" series (Little, Brown) can be found here in bikinis and Oakleys instead of wool pashminas and Blahnik boots. Unfortunately, this book tries to be more than the others of its genre by making frequent use of words and phrases that don't fit the beach-baby scene, such as "-she wasn't one to snivel over the vagaries of her own existence." Fans of the series will flock to this book, but they may be a tad disappointed with the replay.

Previously in The A-List: Cammie and Anna had to work together on a fashion show, against their will, after getting caught trespassing on private property. Sam was trying to keep all the pieces in her life together, while Caine and Adam ran out of luck.

Now the A-Listers are back and this time, it's every person for themselves.

Anna wants to get away and clear her head since everything unexpected that has been happening to her. And so, along with her traveling buddy, instead of going to Mexico, her and Sam are off to Anna's hometown, New York. But Sam is there with a different motive: Could her boyfriend possibly be hiding something from her? So now playing private detective is the only way to solve her problems.

Back in L.A., Cammie isn't wasting her time staying single. She needs, no wants, to move on, and since Ben and Anna aren't really a couple now, Ben is looking better by the minute. Besides, she had already warned Anna about her plans if things didn't work out with Adam.

But does Anna really need Ben, since she is trying to become more independent, and now has someone from her past back in her life, possibly for good? And will Cammie successfully snag Ben, or will Ben wait for the one who he says he loves?

Another drama-filled installment that will leave us wanting more, BEAUTIFUL STRANGER will not disappoint any fan of the series. Look out for the next one, CALIFORNIA DREAMING, releasing in April 2008.

I love to read teen romance stories and thought that this was one of the best out there.The A-list was an amasingly well written book. I personally think that Zoey Dean is and amasing author. I definatly incourage other people to read this book as well as the rest in the series

It was interesting at first. It was catty and entertaining but as i turned each page, I could see how superficial and unrealistic the events in this book were. Its about a rich girl, Anna Percy, who decides to move to LA for a while so she can let loose. She gets to attend a celebrity wedding and meets hot guys and mean girls. All the characters in this book are spoiled, mean, brats with Louis Vuitton bags and money doesnt matter to them. Its too unrealistic and like Anna Percy said, "are these bad lines from a trashy teen novel?"...or something like that.

It tries to be like Gossip Girl and Sloppy Firsts but it doesnt succeed. I say, don't waste your time on this. Instead, try the ones I just compared with: Gossip Girl and Sloppy Firsts.
