Homicide Detective Jack Stryker and his team believe that Professor Elise Mayhew's death was caused by domestic violence--until he learns that his girlfriend, Kate, also a professor at the university, is being threatened and harassed. This thinly plotted book is not enhanced by the mediocre narration. Jeff Harding's voices are a mixed bag--some characters' voices are convincing, many are not, among which are the female professors, who sound too girlish. (The insipid dialogue doesn't help.)
