Well I've read all of the first four except the first(I Have Araconaphobia and cant stand the cover). And this was an amazing book, now some people think this was a disspointment, but I still think it was great. But I do have to agree it doesnt have the same essence as the others, so it gets 4 stars and Not 5.

Basically, 8 years after Darren has been blooded as a Vampire, he goes on the journey to Vampire Mountain with Mr. Crepsley. It takes quite a long time, and when he gets there a few days later he has to meet the Vampire Princes so they can approve of Mr. Crepsley blooding him. Now the reason this only gets 4 stars, is because that is pretty much the whole point of the book. While the other 2 I've read have alot more storyline to it. But at the end, the twist Darren has to endure will make you want to read the 5th book badly. (I'm Canadian so I had to order it off of here)

But back to the point, to get the understanding of this book I reccommend you read #2 and #3, or just #3 at the least. I wouldn't suggest skipping over this though, it doesnt have alot of action as the others, but its still a amazing read.
