Product Description

From Amazon.com

The best thing about Carlene Thompson's excellent psychological thriller isn't the carefully restrained writing or the credible characters. It's the way she can take one of the exhausted cliches of the genre--"Did I Marry a Serial Killer?"--and make it dance. When Deborah Robinson's handsome, overworked lawyer husband Steve suddenly disappears, she begins to wonder about his recent odd behavior and his possible involvement in a series of brutal attacks on local women. Deborah starts to dig, and she soon turns up enough scary stuff about Steve to keep you guessing and feverishly turning pages until the surprising conclusion.

Product Description

A psychological chiller about a woman battling with the possibility that her husband, and the father of her children, may be a serial killer.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Way You Look Tonight., Feb 14 2002

I don't want to list any of the characters for fear of giving away the surprise ending. I have always been a lover of Mary Higgins Clark's suspense novels, but now that I have discovered Carlene Thompson-- my first experience in a book club- I then went to Amazon.com and purchased the other two of her books and am now addicted. Her descriptions of characters and surroundings are very good- and I cannot put her book down until I have finished it. The first selection I read was "Since You've Been Gone. EXCELLLENT mysteries.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Quite Her Best, Jul 16 2001
By lusty22 "avid reader" (VT United States) - See all my reviews
I love Carlene Thompson's books but this one was not her best. It was very entertaining, like always, but I was actually able to figure this one out and that is highly unusual. I found it to be rather silly at the end and very lame. Sorry but true. In the midst of this book I read another book and I guess that says it all. I would not normally do that with one of Ms. Thompson's books.
