I'm only up to Chapter 22 -- came on Amazon to see if this book had any hope of getting better. I think I'll spare myself and give up now. I'm just thankful I didn't buy this piece of... The dialogue is [bad]; the characters are completely one-dimensional. First and last time I'll read anything by this author.

I gave up on this one when the old woman was brought into the story (I think I managed to read about 130 pages). I just got to the point where I was so bored with this book that I didn't even care what happened to these people anymore. This was my 1st E. Adler book and will probably be my last.

The title just about says it all, because that's how quickly a person's life can change. My favorite part of this book was the wonderfully small cast of characters, each so different but all connected in one way or another. The book had a slow start, but doesn't take more than the first chapter to pick up and take you on your way. It was enjoyable, suspenseful, and as always had that irresistable wave of romance to it.
