In Vietnam, his SEAL squad called him Admiral out of respect though the rank wasn't yet earned. Jake has earned that rank after 30 years of dedication. When a deadly nerve agent is stolen from a US facility, Jake must infiltrate a militia cult. He can't do it alone. Zoe is the leading expert with the CIA on biochemical agents. She's been on these missions before and she knows the stakes involved. Together with the squad of SEALs hand-picked by Jake for backup, they enter a world so deadly that all their skills are tested.

We were introduced to Jake in the last book; he's fully recovered from the assassination attempt but he's still recovering from the death of his wife Daisy. He knows that his age is a problem for the squad; even though at 53 he's in as good as or better shape than his men. He battles his attraction for Zoe who makes him feel more alive than he's felt in long time. Zoe's had a crush on Jake for years. His reputation from Nam paints him as a hero with a capital H. She knows that she's falling in love with Jake the man; that he happens to be Jake the hero and Jake the hunk, is just a bonus. Awesome! ... this one I think is my favourite so far in the series.
