2.0 out of 5 stars what a shame, Dec 13 2005
By A Customer
The writers should be eaten by muties for writing episodes like this one under the deathlands name. This book got two stars and that was being generous. i agree with the other reveiwer about geting rid of mildred and i took the advice about lucifer wars. What a fantastic book so much better than this slop. Ge should try and get hold of this new author and get him writing for them! maybe he could stop the deathlands series from buying the farm! Deep six mildred! and save us all from more outings as bad as this one!

2.0 out of 5 stars black emptiness, Dec 12 2005
By A Customer
this was simply boring. The survivors arrive on an island populated by black people and we see racism in reverse (nothing new there) instead of being killed out of hand Ryan and his group become prisoners (yawn) and are kept alive because of Mildred. The plot was then dragged out to the point where i almost lost the will to live never mind read on. i perservered though and wished that i hadnt bothered. Waste of time and effort. The other reviewer seems so astute that i took the advice and gave lucifer wars a try; Now that really is a different caliber of bullet (i mean book) it was like reading a vintage deathlands. This author should be snapped up by GE as he could quite possibly save the series from collapse.

2.0 out of 5 stars doldrum lands, Dec 9 2005
oh dear! this was a total waste of an episode. i have been a fan of the series since the begining and i continue to buy these books in the hope of seeing a return to the style of the first ten in the series. From then onwards it seems that the series has slid down the toilet to the level of the drek that is being churned out now. Same plot same heroes same villains. This time we see Ryan and his merry band on an island populated by black people and we see racism against the white minority (oh wow how original) sorry for the sarcasm. The only ray of hope was the possibility of losing awful Mildred Wyeth, but alas she chooses to stay with JB at the end (unlucky JB) A poor outing for Doc Jak and the rest as they had very low key minor roles in this misadventure. On behalf of my fellow readers i would like to say to G.E. get rid of mildred, give us some decent new muties (a return of the original deadly stickies wouldnt go amis) get some new writers (preferably ones with an indepth knowledge of the series and a set of b***s.)Fans of the apocalyptic survival story should try lucifer wars, by far superior to the drivel that is being churned out under the deathlands name. i think that james axler must be spinning in his grave at the hogwash that these writers are producing under his name.
