-- Romantic Times

"She creates fairy tales that come true." --This text refers to an alternate Mass Market Paperback edition.

Product Description

Reina seethes with rage over her fate: taken captive by the knight Ranulf -- a golden giant of a man -- who has pledged to deliver her to the nuptial bed of the despised Lord Rothwell. She will never accept such bondage -- and Reina offers herself to her kidnapped instead, offering to make Ranulf a great lord...if he agrees to wed her.

But the brave knight desires much more than a marriage of convenience from this proud, headstrong lady who treats him with scorn yet makes his blood run hotter than liquid fire. She must come to him of her own free will -- or Ranulf will take her. For the passion that consumes them both cannot long be denied -- even though gravest peril surely awaits them on the heart's trail to a destines and turbulent love. --This text refers to an alternate Mass Market Paperback edition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not one of her best, April 7 2004
This review is from: Defy Not the Heart (Hardcover)
While I love JL, I have to admit this was not one of her books I could really get into. I have read everysingle one of her books everytime I started one of those I was hooked but, there was something about this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Defy Not the Heart, Nov 5 2003
By Kaytelynn (Washington State) - See all my reviews
I have read every Johanna Lindsey book ever written, and my all time favorite is Defy Not the Heart. I can not say enough about this book. It is a page turner, so be careful not to start it in the evening, or you won't get any sleep that night. I personally have 3 copies of it, with different covers on each.

I highly recommend purchasing this one, and sharing it with anyone who is an historical Romance fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of JL's best, Feb 11 2003
By Lealing (London, England) - See all my reviews
Really loved this one. Great heroine and hero but he was a bit dense. More brawn than brains but still endearing. I'm not particularly into spanking but the one in this book is really sexy! Maybe not the spanking itself but the tension in the scene and everything else that she received with it. I always read JL books in one go, cannot not put them down until I have come to the end.
