Product Description

Leaving behind the sheltered life of a French convent, Miranda journeyed to the New World and an arraged marriage to a prosperous Texan rancher. Arriving in America, the innocent European met her fiance's freind Derek Bragg, a rough-hewn Texas Ranger, whose harsh manner and candid comments about her beauty enraged the shy miss. Although Bragg fought to deny his feelings for his charge, he knew that he was falling in love with her. Miranda, too, was struggling with her desire for her escort as they trekked across the treacherous wilderness. Drawn to the lawman--enflamed by his raw masculine virility--will Miranda sacrifice her innocence to the fire blazing out of control in her heart?

Ingram

Torn from her convent school life and engaged to a Texas rancher she has never met, Miranda travels across the American frontier, led by her fiance's best friend. But the attraction between handsome Derek and Miranda makes their passage west a tempestuous contest--with Miranda's heart as the prize. Original.

I loved this book because it was not typical, this was a great story with a cute ending. My friend let me borrow it and I couldn't put it down, ever since then i have read almost all the Bragg Family novels.

1.0 out of 5 stars Monotonous, Jun 14 2002
By A Customer
This was one of the worst romance novels I've ever read, which says a lot since I read many of them and Brenda Joyce is a favorite author of mine. The continual Indian attacks and abductions got really tiring after a while. Also, it's a little hard to buy that an annoying weakling like Miranda could have survived the rapes, abductions, etc. that she went through. Good grief, she couldn't handle someone holding her hand, so she wouldn't have been able to handle some of the situations that Joyce puts her in. We are introduced to a convent-raised girl who blushes when someone looks her in the eye, and we're supposed to believe that she can bounce right back from rapes, kidnapping, etc.??? That's stretching it. I found myself wanting the hero to dump her and find someone more worthwhile.
