Although Belinda seems the most obvious "changeling," Carr sustains an air of doubt and intrigue. The ambience of the Cornish countryside and of Victorian London permeate this piquantly Gothic family saga. Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club alternate; paperback rights to Fawcett.
