Product Description

Ingram

The energy stealing creature known as Sauron has returned to menace the Savage Land--the prehistoric jungle in the Antarctic. At the behest of the Savage Land's protector, the X-Men have come to help stop Sauron's latest reign of terror. But this is not the same Sauron the X-Men have defeated in the past. He is now a cunning and deadly foe who may be too much for even the X-Men to handle! . --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that good, April 24 2001
By "mitchell_122" (Bakersville, NC United States) - See all my reviews
I can't give a completely accurate review of this book because i never finished it. I got a little less than half way through it when I said the heck with it. I just didn't find it that interesting and I thought the charaterzation was a little off. I would sugggest reading X-men Doctor Doom Chaos Engine book 1 it is awsome. well thats my 2 cents

4.0 out of 5 stars Take me back to the savage land, Jun 21 2000
By Anna (Pembroke Pines , Fl.) - See all my reviews
This novel was thoroughly enjoyable. You have all the elements of an exciting tale. Theres a new twist on an old villain, a plethora of characters, all with respectable contributions to the story, and of course all this is set amidst the fantastic landscape of the Savage Land. X-enthusiasts , get this book, you won't regret it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average, May 28 1999

A decent read. While not quite up to the quality of "Smoke and Mirrors", this novel balances both a love story and an action-packed thrill ride. If you are a fan of Sauron or the Savage Land, then this is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars just like the good old days!
Even though the book has Cannonball as part of the X-Men and the stupid Asian version of Psylocke, this novel _felt_ like one of the old Chris Claremont X-Men comics from the good... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome X-Men story
I like this novel largely for three reasons. First it's an adventure that takes place in the Savage Land and we get to see more of Ka-zar, Shanna, and Zabu. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars the best X-Men novel out there
This is definitely the best X-Men book, closely followed by Prisoner X and Smoke and Mirrors. I am slightly biased because this is the only X-Men novel to prominently feature... Read more

The X-MEN must overcome Sauron's hypnosis in order to stop his plans of conquest. But how can they beat him if they can't even look at him? Read more
