As another review says, this book if full of "what could go wrong", but in no way did it scare me, because it was always followed up by what to do to lower your chances of those complications happening to you. You need to be aware of how a Twin or other multiple pregnancy is different from a single pregnancy in order to be sure of how to take care of yourself. This book will give you that information. I felt it was neither too liberal in its approach or two conservative (Barbara Luke's similar book is much more conservative in its approach to twin pregnancies).

This book offers a concise description of what it is like to be pregnant with multiples. It gives you an overview of major issues dealt with in twin and higher order pregnancies and then provides details on each trimester and labor/delivery. The "What you may notice" section for each trimester lets you know what are normal symptoms of multiple pregnancy while alerting you to dangers. The author, a doctor and mother of twins, presents a balanced view letting you know that you can do this while pointing out dangers. She does an amazing job of informing you but does not terrify you. This has been my main resource during this pregnancy.

I have read this book, and felt it was a very informative book telling you all 'as it is'! It went through many different issues of things that can go wrong, which is very important, so that if something does go wrong, you can be aware of it, and speak to your doctor about it, before its too late!! It also went through the foods and vitamins that is necessary to eat as a pregnant mom of multiples. It divided the book with trimesters, which made it very easy to look up anything, you have a question about during the pregancy. It made me very comfortable knowing that a doctor herself wrote the book, (and someone who had twins herself- so she 'really' knew all the ins and outs) and that it was not just written by some journalist or someone. It was easy reading and very educational. I felt it was very similar to another book I've read called "Twins, Expert Advice from two Practicing Physicians on Pregnancy and the First Year", by Connie Agnew. The reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 was because certain times, I felt that the author jumbled around and wrote things in 2-3 different places, where I would have preferred to read about that specific thing, all in one place, but otherwise, its a great book for anyone expecting multiples to read!
