Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

Fatal attacks on polluters around the world are investigated by a writer and an NYPD lieutenant. By this environmental thriller's bloody climax, readers will be thoroughly tired of its padding and cardboard characters.

From AudioFile

Rival armies are battling for the ecological future of the planet in David Morrell's 1991 thriller, with beautiful reporter Tess Drake caught in the middle. Drake is aided in her investigation of the murder of a mysterious gray-eyed man by a New York City detective, who eventually becomes a love interest. Reader David Regal's basso profundo engages both emotionally and intellectually as he ably portrays both male and female characters. Highlights include extraordinary action scenes set in New York, Washington, and ancient European caverns. Regal sometimes struggles through long passages of exposition, and some of the violence is over the top, but overall this entertaining story works for any thriller fan. 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pleasure read, Dec 7 2003
By Christine and Robert Broyles (Englewood, Fl United States) - See all my reviews
Loved this book! Have recommended it to everyone I know that likes to read. This book actually got me back into reading for pleasure. I was so enthralled by this book that I've read every David Morrell book published. I wish that he would go back to formats like The Covenant of the Flame for his inspiration instead of his new material. Any of Morrell's early publications great reading material.

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent plot; juvenile dialog
I give the author credit for a decent plot, but what could have been a great story, wasn't. The book missed the mark, in my opinion, for three reasons. Read more
