Lord Peter Wimsey brings his investigations close to home when called to solve questions in a murder in which his brother-in-law, the Duke of Denver, is the main suspect. The abridgment necessitates careful listening to keep track of the storyline. Petherbridge portrays a perfect Wimsey, his own role for the BBC television series, but other characters and the background narration are less distinguished. The reader delivers the final summation in court with great energy and a sparkling presentation of motives and emotions. The overall effect will amuse Sayers's fans. R.F.W.
