This first-person narrative is told by Scottish heroine Jane Marsh, who is currently living in California. Stella Gonet portrays each of the Scottish characters with light accents; the Americans sound native. Gonet's warm voice reflects the love of Jane's grandmother and father, and adjusts to the harsher tones of Sinclair's calculated love.
