Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

An Armenian radical is accused of murdering a Turkish diplomat as a New York City homicide chief and his wife try to find the real culprits.
Copyright 1995 Reed Business Information, Inc.

From Library Journal

During World War I, 1.5 million Armenians were annihilated by the Turks. Turkey has never acknowledged this genocide, and history lightly dances around it. Herein lies the premise of Justice Denied. The tale begins with the assassination of a Turkish diplomat-apparently committed by Armenian terrorists-and the prompt arrest of a suspect. Enter Butch Karp, assistant district attorney and head of the homicide bureau. Karp and wife Marlene, also an assistant D.A., make a most dynamic duo. Among the individual threads: she goes to a reception and receives a lecture on art theft; he discovers a million dollars in a safe deposit box; he gets a lesson on Eastern European history and the buying and selling of national treasures. These threads are tightly woven together into a highly satisfying tale ultimately related to the novel's opening events. Larger public libraries may want more than one copy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Reader Denied, Aug 23 2001
By A Customer
After a Turkish Diplomat is killed in the open, NYPD officers think it's an open and shut case. DA Butch Karp thinks differently and sets out to find out the truth.

This book with its many twists and turns kept you on your toes. However, the narrator Anthony Heald, didn't. He read this book like it was a race. In addition, the sound quality was really bad. You could hear every breath the Mr. Heald took. This book really held great potential. It was a good plot and Mr. Tanenbaum is probably a very good author. I chose the audio book for this title and do to circumstances beyond his control Mr. Tanenbaum didn't come off in a good light with me.

This was the first book I have had by Mr. Tanenbaum and it probably wasn't as bad as my rating indicates. I based that on the narrator and quality of the recording. I would probably give the actual book 3 stars, it was average but not above average.

If you like hard core detective stories, I would recommend this book. However; I must warn you, the language in it is rather colorful at times. If you are easily offended by vulgar language, then this isn't a book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Butch Karp solves a murder and art fraud., April 5 1999
By A Customer
This was a real page-turning crime novel. Assistant District Attorney Butch Karp prosecutes an accused murderer after having surgery on his knee. His wife Marlene solves a case of art fraud. Their child Lucy is saved from danger by detective Harry Bello. Another great novel in the Karp series!
