This titillating reading of Block's 1970 pseudonymous sex-romp is packaged as a mystery although it has no murder, detectives or much in the way of crime. Nevertheless, it's a barrel of fun, with actor Gregory Gorton doing a lively interpretation of Chip Harrison's narrative voice. While on close examination, it's hard to believe that Gorton's is the voice of a 17-year-old, he puts a bright bounce into his reading, making this a highly entertaining listening experience. Warning, this one is not for the kiddies. Though not explicit, the theme of sex runs throughout this story as Chip Harrison wanders from the Midwest to upstate New York, endeavoring to lose his virginity. S.E.S. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
