5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Charming!, Jul 11 2004
By A Customer
I am a teenager and I thoroughly enjoyed Alice in Wonderland and the sequel, Through the Looking Glass. It was full of fantasy and illusion that made you feel as though you were walking through Wonderland with Alice. The innocence and simplicity is wonderful.
I am often disappointed that people feel that if they watch a movie, there is no need to read the book. But the book is 100% better than any movie.
As a writer myself, I can only hope to write a book half as imaginative and charming as this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Positively enchanting......., Jun 15 2004
By Dusty "dusty_or" (Portland, OR United States) - See all my reviews
Years ago while we were on a trip I picked up three summer classics for some light reading. One of them was 'Alice'....Even tho I had read it as a child, I had forgotten just how wonderful Carroll's book was......Recently I was in a bookstore and noted that once again summer classics are out and it was in the pile once again. It can be read and enjoyed by all ages, but I think the subtleties can be best enjoyed by those who are a bit older e.g. the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, the croquet game featuring the Queen of Hearts etc. I was reminded of how much the tea party reminded me of a previous job that I had involving a variety of board members.
I guess there is only only one word to describe this classic, 'timeless'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Gla, Jun 7 2004
By B. Viberg "Alex Rodriguez" (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have seen the animated movie many a time but I had never read the books and to my surprise they are pure genius. Mr. Carrol is a writer in league with greats such as JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and the brothers grimm. The two books are inteligent, funny, witty and filled with dry english charm and humor. Highly Recommended indeed.
