Product Description

Chantelle Burke fears her life has ended when she's abducted and sold into slavery. The newest addition to the harem of the mighty Pasha, the proud young Englishwoman will never call him "master" or bow to his ruthless will. But her resolve weakens once within the silken splendor of his chambers, when she encounters the breathtakingly handsome, powerfully muscular, and surprisingly tender desert chieftain for the first time. Yet, beneath his exotic eastern garb, the Pasha hides his true identity—one he must conceal at all costs . . . even as he burns to surrender everything to the bewitching Chantelle: his heart, his passion, and his very soul.

5.0étoiles sur 5 Great exotic romance, Jui 22 2004
Par Dakota "daxydakota" (Southern California) - Voir tous mes commentaires
"Silver Angel" is one of Lindsey's more exotic, detail-oriented romance novels. Set in Barikah in the Middle East, "Silver Angel" runs on the premise that Englishman Derek Sinclair impersonates the Dey of Barikah -- also his twin brother -- while the Dey seeks out his would-be assassin. In the meantime, Derek disrupts his brother's harem by pursuing a newly acquired, utterly rebellious concubine, beautiful Chantelle, who was kidnapped off the coast of England and sold into slavery. The detail Lindsey puts into everyday harem life is amazing, and you end up absolutely fascinated with the setting alone. Add to that the fact that Chantelle is a spirited, fiery, and vulnerable heroine, while Derek is a sexy (and considerate) master, and you end up with a sumptuous read. Amazingly, they don't actually make love until page 300, but their nonstop interplay is so sensual and passionate, you never even notice. There are several unforgettable moments in this novel, such as the first time Chantelle is brought to the Dey's palace, as well as the attempted poisoning. The secondary characters also capture your attention, including the eunuch in charge of guarding Chantelle, the Dey's first wife Sheelah, and Derek's mother, the grand dame of the harem.

"Silver Angel" is only one of two Lindsey books set in the Middle East. The other is "Captive Bride," her first novel, and not a very good one at that. I highly recommend "Silver Angel" not only for its exotic locale and interesting tidbits about Arab life, but also for its smooth story, outstanding characters, and intensely satisfying romance.

2.0étoiles sur 5 Don't know what to think, Jui 5 2002
Par Mitzi "mitzi_73" (Brooklyn, NY United States) - Voir tous mes commentaires
This is my third JL book and I don't know what to think. I didn't like the fact the two main characters meet on page 141 in one scene. I read up to 171 and the characters hadn't met since page 141. There was too much plot and very little romance. JL describes her characters and settings very descriptively and it comes alive but I guess I just got bored waiting for the action to happen. I stopped reading halfway through the book because I have about 4 more novels I'm dying to read (some by JL) so in the future I might give this one a try again.
