Product Description

As the Yuuzhan Vong’s spectacular conquests continue unchecked, Luke Skywalker, Han and Leia Solo , and Wedge Antilles are forced to destroy what they have risked their lives to create. . . .

Scattering like rats before the Yuuzhan Vong’s invasion of Coruscant, the panic-stricken members of the New Republic Advisory’s Council pause just long enough to set up a mock defense on nearby Borleias—a transparent attempt to buy time that fools no one, least of all the Jedi.

Leia and Han Solo trek from world to world to foment rebellion against the New Republic’s disastrous appeasement policies. But Luke Skywalker has chosen the most dangerous assignment of all: to sneak into the Yuuzhan Vong’s stronghold on Coruscant. His outrageous scheme to gain entry is either brilliant or suicidal, depending on the outcome. And bearing down swiftly on Borleias is a Vong invasion fleet, determined to destroy the galaxy’s remaining defenders. . . . --Ce texte provient de la Mass Market Paperback édition.

4.0étoiles sur 5 A definite reprisal to the darkness of previous NJO books..., Juil 5 2004
Par Traum "aidanhailes" (Edmonton, AB Canada) - Voir tous mes commentaires
Not since the end of Vector Prime, the first book in this series, and perhaps the first Agents of Chaos book, have I actually finished a novel and felt the good guys are doing something right. Undoubtedly in this case they are.

For shifting the attention away from the regular cast of characters, except for Jaina, Allston deserves much praise, but for doing it in a manner that reinforces the admirable strength and power of these characters makes it commendable. Even small touches such as adding Tam, the camera-man turned Yuuzhan Vong slave, help to flush out the plot of what was a steadily shifting, but constantly in motion chain of events. The addition of Tsavong Lah's father to the mix was also intruiging, and I wonder if Allston did this of his own ambition (in which case it was brilliantly done) as I peeked at the end of the next novel and am aware Tsavong's father dies, so he does not remain a character for the other writers.

The character depth was good, the love-story between Jag and Jaina reaching the inevitable first kiss was well done, as was Jaina finally realizing her sense of mortality in an individualized manner - quite nice. All in all, I just can't wait to finish the next one.

5.0étoiles sur 5 "Star Wars", like "Star Trek", will live forever!, Jui 16 2004
Par Eric (New York) - Voir tous mes commentaires
This adventure concerns Luke and Leia, primarily, as another galactic villian arrives to begin his take-over at Courisant. And, thus, another great space opera begins and grips us just as tightly as other great sci-fi works of old and new: "Stranger in a Strange Land", "Puppet Masters", "Foundation", "2001", "2010", "Rendezvous with Rama", "Ringworld", all the "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" books, as well as books as new to the genre as "Advent of the Corps" and others.

4.0étoiles sur 5 Impressive, Mars 23 2004

I was waiting for Aalston to jump into this series. He did a commendable job. It was a great plot and the battle scenes were written very well. I felt like someone was doing backflips in my stomach while I read this book.

Allston does a great job(as he has on all other Star Wars novels) in Rebel Dream. The title is a little cheasy for the book because of the allusion to the actual ship and that... Read more
