This book was one of the first I've read by Dean Koontz, and I gotta tell you, it fed my addiction. It wasn't one of his best books, but I still recommend it. This may be a spoiler, so don't read on...but the ending could have been better, it didn't live up to the rest of the novel.

'Velocity' stands for the reader's appetite for consuming this book.
Well written and he has very interesting spins , twists and turns in this novel. Another good trait is 'Koontz' does not waste much time with flowery verse. He creates an atmosphere around and in the story without droning on about nothing! Loved it!

Velocity by Dean Koontz is aptly titled. The plot twists and turns at lightning speed, making it truly difficult to put this book down. Suspense is something this author does extremely well, and he does not disappoint, piling on the pressure with a vengeance. Some have disparaged humble hero Billy for his abrupt transformation into man of action and for his moral passivity, but I think Koontz has pitched it just right. As with The Face and Forever Odd I found the villain somewhat lightweight, but this is more than compensated for by the terrific, unflagging pace of the story.
