Product Description

From School Library Journal

Grade 3-5?Jake's dog, Lance, and Jake's friend Andy accidentally exchange bodies when an experimental switching machine is activated. Now it is up to the boy and his other friends to figure out a means to reverse the situation before anyone else finds out. Humorous close calls arise, including the threat of taking Lance (really Andy) to obedience school and a groomer. Eventually, they are able to corral the two victims back to the machine, only to undergo a partial switch. The story concludes with Andy still exhibiting a very keen sense of smell. Youngsters will empathize with the predicaments in which Strasser's energetic boys find themselves and enjoy this light, entertaining read.?Cheryl Cufari, N. A. From Booklist

Gr. 5^-8. Fans of Strasser's other books in the Help! I'm Trapped series will want to read this easy, breezy story, in which eighth-grader Jake Sherman's dog, Lance, and Jake's best friend, Andy, are trapped in each other's bodies. Silly, slapstick situations abound: picture a best friend barking in school, eating dog food, chasing squirrels, and being a star pupil in obedience school. The story is briskly paced, and although it's fairly predictable, readers who want something to read just for fun won't mind. Suggest this to older reluctant readers, too. Chris Sherman

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This Book!, Mar 5 2004
By A Customer
I love this book. I'll just say a short summary. Ok, maybe It's not that short, but anyway: Jake is really worring about the fact that Lance, his dog, may either be sent to obideince school, or off to a farm where he'll be sleeping with flea invested mutts and fighting over slabs of meat. But then, he shows his friends the body Switch machine, and his friend Andy gets hit. You can probobly geuss what happens next, so, I rest my case.

Help! Iï¿m trapped in obedience school
By Carson

I read, help! Iï¿m trapped in obedience school. Itï¿s written by Todd strasser, and the genre is fiction. He also wrote all the other, help Iï¿m trapped inï¿ books (he wrote the whole series). The plot is that, a boy named Andy, switches bodies with Jakeï¿s dog, lance (Jake is the main character), and the things they go through at home, school and on the streets.
Andy is gross because he shoots spitballs through his nose. Heï¿s stubborn because he doesnï¿t want to turn back into a human because as a dog he gets to be lazy and not wash.
This book is funny because Jake keeps trying to talk to Andy. This makes every one stare at him (they donï¿t know that Andy is in lance) that happens on page 48, in obedience school.
Jake and Josh some times walk over to Andyï¿s house, I walk over to my friendï¿s houses all the time. Jake has a pet and so do i. Jake has a dog, I have reptiles.
Jake is a good kid (heï¿s not a troublemaker) because he doesnï¿t give people answers in school, and he doesnï¿t like it when his friends make fun of his sister. Heï¿s persistent because he keeps trying to get Andy into his own body even after Andy doesnï¿t want to, and heï¿s been made fool of, he even makes up excuses to get Andy into his old body.
Then as soon as Jessica (Jakeï¿s older sister) says "its time to get groomed" then suddenly Andy doesnï¿t want to be a dog any more. After that they sneak into Dirksons (dirkson is the science professor) garage so they could use the d.i.t.s. To switch Andy back toï¿well Andy. Thereï¿s only one problemï¿ well you have to find out for your self.

Can you guess what happened?
