Book Description

After a whole season of being put down by everyone in Waterloo, the hockey team from Mars is in the league championship. But they lose their captain, Alexia, because she is a girl. That her replacement is a scrawny kid nicknamed “Fragile” doesn’t bode well for the Stars’ play-off hopes, and neither does the prediction that no player from Mars will ever touch the championship cup. “Chipmunk” Adelman, team reporter for the Stars, tries to battle the injustice of the century-old bylaw that keeps Alexia from playing, and gets thrown off the school paper. But SLAPSHOTS fans know that nothing can keep the cup-crazy Stars down — not even the opposing forward’s “Wayne Gretzky” wrist shot!


About the Author

Gordon Korman has always been a hockey fan. He is the award-winning writer of more than 25 books for middle-grade and young adult readers, and seven books in the popular BRUNO AND BOOTS series. Gordon lives with his wife and son outside New York State.

I think Slapshots #4 is the best book I've ever read:) It has lots of action and it takes a while to read so you don't have to buy new books. I also recommend the other books in the Slapshpots series.
