Book Description

Sam discovers a lost palomino in a spooky ghost town. The horse looks like a mirage, but also looks well cared for, and even familiar. Could it be the missing horse from her best friend's ranch?

Sam needs to get the mare back home safely, but there might be something trying to stop her -- her other best friend, the Phantom Stallion.

About the Author

Terri Farley has always loved horses. She left Los Angeles for the cowgirl state of Nevada after earning degrees in English and Journalism. Now she rides the range researching books and magazine articles on the West's people and animals -- especially Nevada's controversial wild horses. She lives in a one-hundred-year-old house with her husband, children, and way too many pets.

This story enchanted me. I thought that the horse was a ghost. It kept me on the edge the whole time the way that Sam's friend was so crazy about caughting Golden Rose. I thought it was grand I hope many others read this story of mystery. The story was scary the way the whole Phantom Stallion's herd was in danger because of the water.Keep reading the series.

This is a good book. Sam and Jen are doing a history project on the local ghost town.
Things begin to get a bit strange Jen and Sam see a Palomino mare and Jen gets a feeling that it was her families long lost mare 'Golden Rose'a mare that was supposed to be used for their breeding program Fire and Ice.

but Sam has other things in her mind like why would someone set a trap and why would they have a stall in the back of the old saloon.

And then Sam's world spins out her Friend Jake dislikes the person Helping Sam and Jen, then Jen goes a bit obsessed at trying to get Rosa.

Will Sam ever get through to her best friend?

4.0étoiles sur 5 Golden Ghost, Oct. 5 2003
Par Un client
The phantom stallion books are very well written and well presented. In this book, Emotional Sam and logical, scientific Jen get an assignment of exploring a "ghost town" for school. In the process, they see a palimino horse that resembles Jen's families lost mare, golden rose. Jen is set on capturing the mare to talke back to her father so they can get some more money and not have to move to the city. The phantoms new lead mare is found dead on the side of the road and they think the water near the ghost town poisoned. It ends well with Jen having caught the mare and her and her father making up and everything but there's still one thing about it. Bryanna has run into a problem, she dosen't know where she belongs in this family, how is she helping to support it and strengthen it? and this isn't resolved by the end of the book. This book was also slower than the others and it didn't really suck me into it until at least the 4th or 5th chapter. I think this is going to be like heartland, the next couple books will be slow and basically have the same plot and everything and then, about book #11, it'll get way better.
