Could there possibly be anything funnier than Durrell's book about an ordinary chap who inherits an elephant ("Rosy") with a taste for liquor? Yes, there could be, and there is. Even funnier is the same story read aloud by Jamie Glover. His performance is a hoot. In fact, it almost seems as if the author deliberately created a cast of amiable eccentrics just to give Glover a chance to become a dotty aristocrat, a flamboyant defense attorney with a lisp, and an "h"-dropping coffin-maker.
