5.0 out of 5 stars Another Amazing Job From S.D. Perry, Jul 8 2004
I'm not about to tell you this book's story, because you can search inside this book and find its story there. I'm here to tell you about how great this book is.
It doesn't matter if you've played one of the games or not. If you like horror/thriller kind of literature, you can't miss this book. If you've played the games, then you get a bonus point to like this one, because it really feels like you're in the game. And since this book includes a story which is not featured in any of the games, it feels like you're playing something like Resident Evil 1.5. I've read the first book, and what makes this one more game-alike is the fact that she describes the places with more details, she has gained some skills since "The Umbrella Conspiracy", and, mainly, the fact that there are many puzzles the characters have to solve to continue the story, so you think about this puzzles yourself, along with the characters... just like in the game, and that's the magic of it. But, as I said, if you're not into videogames, you'll love this one too, because it has an amazing story. But if you haven't played the games, it's a must that you read the first book (The Umbrella Conspiracy), before this one. If you have beaten the first game, even that way, it would be very nice if you read the first book before Caliban Cove. But if you've played the games and hated them, I think this book won't change your opinion that much (if you hated the movie, it doesn't matter, because it doesn't have much to do with the books).
It's not useful for me to say all these great things about the book if you don't buy it and read it. So do just like me, and, after reading the first two, you'll run to the next library and buy the third one, the novel about Resident Evil 2: City Of The Dead.

By A Customer
This book was just amazing to read. I had read it before but only got up till chapter eleven before i started slacking off. but recently i started reading it again and oh my gosh...this book is awsome!. The whole book mainly focuses on Rebecca and Karen,John,David and Steve as they go about on Caliban Cove trying to destroy the facility. The book was really suspenceful and filled with twists and turns. Mind you (...)have read the 1st book of the Resident Evil series. well thats my review later ya'll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Resident Evil: Caliban Cove, Feb 11 2004
By Joshua H. Kim (Cerritos, CA USA) - See all my reviews
By. S.D. Perry

Period:Period 1

In this book, the basic things that go on is a chemical leak called with a chemical called the T-Virus, a virus that changes living organisms into living nightmares, like zombies. It all starts out with scattered S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Squad)finding out that Umbrella, the biological weapons organization is building yet another chemical lab to test out their new virus, the G-Virus. As the story goes on, it starts with a rough landing on Caliban Cove, where a turn of events hold horror and the terrible secret that Umbrella has been hiding from the civilians of Racoon City (along with the S.T.A.R.S... But towards the end, two of the members of the S.T.A.R.S end up contracting with the virus and being lost to the human race forever. And finally, the terrible secret is revealed, only causing the S.T.A.R.S to be framed as chemical weapons smugglers for the past chemical leaks that Umbrella has done not quite on accident by their own leaders and trainers; because in Racoon City, there is no one to trust...
In my own opinion, I think that this book was really interesting and a classic thriller. Basically, this book is perfect and there is no reason for me not to like this book because this book is technically perfect .I'd also recommend a reader who is hungry for action to not only read Caliban Cove, but other titles in the series of Resident Evil!
Many people would challenge my opinion and ask me why there would be no reason to hate this book. But to prove that I may be right, I'll include two quotes from Caliban Cove:
1. The head had caved in like a rotting pumpkin, teeth shattered, gummy flecks of tissue radiating out from behind the skull.(This proves how much of a thrill this book is)
2.It seemed that Umbrella had found a new application with the T-Virus; and like it or not, were going to have to deal with the consequences. (This proves how much suspense this book holds in store for any readers)
My favorite part in this book was when the S.T.A.R.S team landed on Caliban Cove and the surprise that they got. It was pretty funny how the S.T.A.R.S. reacted when they saw the mutilated body as described on quote #1 on the doorway! My least favorite part was when Karen, a member of the S.T.A.R.S. gets infected with the virus and later on dies. I mean, that part really stank! So in conclusion, I'd say that this book is a hit and can really be a great book if you are interested in horror, thrill, action, and suspense!
