Product Description

Across the vast ocean sailed Victoria Seaton, a free-spirited American beauty left suddenly orphaned and alone. Eager to claim her long-lost heritage, she was amazed at the formal elegance of Wakefield, the sumptuous English estate of her distant cousin...the notorious Lord Jason Fielding. Sought after at plays, operas, and balls by London's most fashionable ladies, Jason remained a mystery to Victoria. Bewildered by his arrogant demeanor, yet drawn to his panther-like grace, she came to sense the searingly painful memories that smoldered in the depths of his jade-green eyes.

Unable to resist her spitfire charm, Jason gathered her at last into his powerful arms, ravishing her lips with his kisses, arousing in her a sweet, insistent hunger. Wed in desire, they were enfolded in a fierce, consuming joy, free at last from the past's cruel grasp. Then, in a moment of blinding anguish, Victoria discovered the shocking treachery that lay at the heart of their love...a love she had dreamed would triumph...Once And Always.

Ingram

When American orphan Victoria Seaton journeys to England to claim an inheritance, she meets and falls in love with her troubled cousin, Lord Jason Fielding. (Romance). --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guilty pleasure..., May 12 2008
By Lucy Loo "Lucybear05" (Alberta, Canada) - See all my reviews
Logically, I agree with the handful of poor reviews. There are stupid misunderstandings. The hero can be mean. The poor thrown-over fiance is sad. But I just can't seem to care! Such a guilty pleasure. There is something about these McNaught books; I can't help but love love love them. If you like tortured heroes who treat their heroines shabbily, but then are ultimately redeemed by them (ie. all the worst romance novel cliches) and fall deeply in love with them, then you will love this. I did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ahh McNaught! You've done it again!, Jun 17 2006
By Book Worm (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
I'm a huge fan of McNaught's novels, particularly her historical novels, and Once and Always was no exception. While it didn't quite have the same effect on me as Almost Heaven and Whitney My Love, this story was packed with action, drama, and romance romance romance! I'm giving it four stars instead of five for two reasons. The first reason is that it did not capture my heart as much as AH and WML...I would have liked Ms. McNaught to have extended the novel a little bit more and give us some more time to bond with the characters - especially at the end. I feel as if we were cut off prematurely. Secondly, there were some issues brought up in the story that were never resolved. Jason never found out why Victoria briefly tried to leave him at the altar, nor did he find out that she was NOT picturing Andrew at the altar instead of him. Jason didn't find out why Victoria thought it was "thoughtful" of him to have a mistress, and what happened to his mistress in the end was never revealed (Did he get rid of her? Probably...but it would have been nice to actually read that in the novel). Jason also did not figure out why Victoria was "sick" on their wedding night...there was a hint dropped in the book where Jason had the chance to recognize the truth, but he didn't, and I'm almost positive that McNaught intended to use that moment in a flashback and have Jason realize the truth, but she never did. There were a bunch of misunderstandings like those throughout the book that were not resolved. Besides those flaws, Once and Always was a masterpiece. I recommend this book to anyone in need of a good romance - you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars poignant...painful, Jun 21 2004
It enthralls me to the story from start to end. Actually, all Judith Mcnaught books are good.
But this is as good as Almost Heaven.
JM has contributed to the deterioration of my eyesight. Nonstop reading from morning to night, resting only when I take a bath!

2.0 out of 5 stars Ms McNaught - this is unexpected
I am a H-G-G-E McNaught fan - don't get me wrong. Like other books I was enjoying the poignancy of a good romance novel until the time I came to read about Jason's past. Read more

I admit that Judith McNaught has a flair for drama, and I stopped reading her books after finishing Kingdom of dreams, coz that was just SO corny for me. Read more
