So horror writer Tim Underhill returns to his hometown and his obnoxious brother only to discover that the suicide and vanishing may be tied up with a haunted house and serial killer. His profession makes Tim the ideal investigator. Some of the color and most of the suspense have been cut from this truncated version, which Ron McLarty reads with workmanlike attention but little inspiration.
