Descriptions du produit

From Publishers Weekly

Clark pulls out all the stops in this efficiently suspenseful page-turner, a Literary Guild main selection and a 15-week PW bestseller in cloth, telling of a college senior accused of murder and the televangelist couple who abused her as a child.
Copyright 1992 Reed Business Information, Inc.

From AudioFile

Mary Higgins Clark's latest spellbinding tale of kipnapping, multiple personality and murder is read splendidly by Kate Nelligan, an award-winning actress. Her varied accents richly differentiate the many characters. The masculine voices are well done though the Australian accent of psychiatrist Justin Donnelly could use some work. The abridgment flows well with no noticeable gaps. The suspense concerning the murderous threat to the terrified Laurie Kenyon builds well and will probably cause listening commuters to take the long way home to hear the thrilling conclusion. S.C.A. 5.0étoiles sur 5 Has It All, Nov. 5 2004
Par Ez (Melbourne, Australia) - Voir tous mes commentaires
This review is from: All Around the Town (Hardcover)
Laurie Kenyon was kidnapped at the age of four, and was returned to her family two years later. Now, her parents have died, and she's suspected of killing her English professor. This book has it all - short chapters, excellent plotting, psychology and even an Australian character in this American book. Go on - read it! (A+)

2.0étoiles sur 5 Disturbing? Yes., Mai 11 2004
Par Un client
All Around the Town is just perverted. Not scary, or creepy, just perverted. Plus you don't care much about any of the characters like you do in other MHC books. I couldn't bring myself to care about the girl with different personalities, or her sister, or that doctor with the mustache, or the perverted evangelists (although I guess that would defeat the purpose, eh?) Anyway...I didn't like this one. But maybe you will.

5.0étoiles sur 5 Great job by Clark, Avril 12 2004
Par Un client
This was the first book of Clark's I ever read. It was very interesting and kept my attention. Laurie was kidnapped as a young girl but later found and returned to her family. Life seemed to go on until in college Laurie was accused of murdering her professor. Her sister, Sarah is an attorney and hires a shrink to help with the case. It is determined that Laurie has schizophrenia, a condition brought on by her experience with her 2 kidnappers. The story is very interesting and suspenseful. Laurie has no recollectoin of the murder, though her fingerprints are everywhere. There are lots of twists and turns with a surprise ending. I'd highly recommend this book.
