Product Description

From Amazon.com

Mage Heart's narrator is a young woman taught magery in a patriarchal culture which (of course) doesn't permit women to be mages. Routley's fantasy-Renaissance-and-magery plot questions our expectations of romance and fantasy stereotypes, and her portrayals of Dorian and the people around her---friend and foe alike---have more depth than many established writers'. The center of the story is Dorian's inner struggle to reconcile her experiences and her training, and the unified resolution of the action and Dorian's conflicts is satisfying. Like all first novels, this standalone has rough spots, but they're forgivable in such a good story.

--Cherry Wilder, author of Signs of Life

"A highly original romantic fantasy." --This text refers to the Mass Market Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cant wait to read Routley's other books!! : ), May 22 2001
I've bought Mage Heart only 2 days ago and promised myself that I would take my time reading(i'm the kind of person who stays up past midnight to finish reading a book)... well, i failed.. Mage Heart was too good to put down! Dion(the main character) is a very interesting person once u get to know her. She's the type of person who wants respect from society-she's no rebel-but still has mixed feelings about what to do (and no, its not peer pressure). to sum it all up-its a perfect book for anyone [over 13] who loves romance..but dont worry, there's a lot of sci-fi involved in it too.. ; )

5.0 out of 5 stars I could not put it down, Dec 29 2000
By A Customer
This is a fantastic fantasy masterpiece that explores the areas of love, trust and magic! The characters are so real that they practically leap out at you and everything's so vividly described. This is one of the best books I've ever read and I can't wait to read the rest of the series, Fire Angels and Aramaya.

4.0 out of 5 stars Romance and suspense!, Aug 5 2000
This book is filled with romance when Dion meets the beautiful Andre. Dion can't make up her mind about this gorgeous hunk but others would be delighted to take her place. Suspense filled to see what happens at the end. This book was a great read and filled with one surprise after another! People who like mysterious circumstances and/or romance will find this book worthwhile, I think.
