Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

It’s a classic single-woman scenario: you really like this guy, but he’s giving mixed messages. You make excuses, decide he’s confused, afraid of commitment. Behrendt, a former executive story editor for Sex and the City—and a formerly single (now happily married) guy who knows all the excuses—provides a simple answer: he’s just not that into you. Stop kidding yourself, let go and look for someone else who will be. After all, as Behrendt sensibly puts it, "if a (sane) guy really likes you, there ain’t nothing that’s going to get in his way." If you’re not convinced yet, by all means read this smart, funny and surprisingly upbeat little book, full of q’s and a’s covering every excuse woman has ever made to avoid admitting to herself that a man just wasn’t that smitten with her.

From School Library Journal

Adult/High School–With a bright, breezy style, the authors highlight a list of actions that men take to demonstrate that they are "just not into you," using "Dear Greg" letters and replies, unscientific polls of men, lists reviewing the key points in each chapter, a comic glossary, and laugh-out-loud workbook assignments. Although this book is meant for the 20-plus career women who have been dating for a while, the empowering message that a woman deserves a man who truly loves her and not one that she must constantly make excuses for can't be learned too early.–Jane S. 5.0 out of 5 stars Good to know., Jul 17 2009

(REAL NAME)
This is a wake up call. It's hard to hear but sometimes, he's just not that into you. Wow--that blew me away. I don't like being played for a fool, by any means, and I want to know why these guys sometimes--or most times--act like jerks. This book explains it all. It is very empowering to know that I do not have to put myself through the torture of waiting on some guy to call me back. Nope, it's time to wake up, smell the espresso and get on with life. A must, must read if you are ready to wake up. Another good one: Man Magnet: How to Be the Best Woman You Can Be in Order to Get the Best Man-A Guide to Dating (Revised Edition).

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time, Oct 27 2004
By "st-exupery" (Toronto, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
Before you buy this book, please do the following;
1. Read the 1-Star review on amazon.com
2. Ask a male friend to flip through some pages for feedback
3. Remind yourself that the 2 authors are neither relationship experts nor educated in related field - they are indeed 2 script writers for a cable TV show
4. Check to see if you still have a brain

This book is such a waste of time (and money). If anyone believes what Greg says, they deserve to have problems finding the right guys. Everything in the book is generalization. According to Greg:
1. Women shouldn't make any moves. Just sit there and wait. Guys should do all the work
2. Be as paranoid as possible
3. Human behaviour is always pre-determined and formularized
4. If you miss and love someone, you will want to call them everyday, even 4 times a day, like he does (I will just put this type of behaviour under the "loser" group where Greg probably belongs)

The biggest joke is Greg's unofficial survey. He emailed 20 of his friends, asked some random questions and drew a bunch of useless conclusions. Greg, we don't care what your friends think. Take a course in research and analysis before charging people $30 for a piece of trash (with fonts bigger than a bed-time story book). Here is my research: my friends (male or female) who had read this book thought that this is an insult to the publishing industry.

5.0 out of 5 stars And yet, I am really into this book!, Aug 3 2006
This book, on dating, is one of the best I've ever read. The advice is concise and really hits the mark, letting women know the 4-1-1 on men, how they think and how they will inevitablly act. I read it from cover to cover in no time and highly recommend this one to anyone confused or baffled by men. Another good book on dating I liked, also, was "Man Magnet".
