But when Frank Churchill arrives in Highbury, Mr. Knightley's amusement give sway to another emotion, for his unreasonable dislike of the handsome newcomer seems suspiciously like jealousy!

Ms. Grange has taken on the joyous task of showing us Miss Austen's stories through each of her heroes' eyes. Though I was not enthusiastic about "Captain Wentworth's Diary", I think "Mr Knightley's Diary" is golden. There is enough humour, conscious and unconscious, in Mr. Knightley's views of Emma, her doing with Miss Smith and Mr. Elton and of the other characters in Jane Austen's marvellous "Emma" to make this book a delight. Even if you have not read "Emma" first - and you should read "Emma", you really should - the story is told just as it should be.

I confess the portion where, ... well I can't tell you, but near the climax when Mr. Knightley has finally seen his own heart ... was weak; but that was my opinion. Well worth buying or borrowing from the library.

Experience Jane Austen's EMMA through the eyes of her hero.

MR. KNIGHTLEY'S DIARY takes us through a year of his life as he writes about his estate life, visiting with the neighbors, dinner parties he must attend, and his daily encounters with Emma.

These encounters range from enjoyable moments, to moments where he wishes her to grow as a person, and finally to things he wishes would happen between the two of them.

If you're a Jane Austen fan or you've read EMMA, then this latest Jane Austen diary from the male perspective is a must read.
