1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't know this should have an NC-17 rating, Jun 20 2004
By A Customer
I bought this book to read about Marines and what it was like to fight in WW2. Instead, I got a story where the "hero" spends more time in whorehouses and fornicating with a missionary's wife than he does fighting. If I wanted to read detailed descriptions of fantasy sex escapades I would have bought Penthouse. What a disappointment!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Addictive Series, Jun 5 2003
By "covingtonj" (Plano, TX United States) - See all my reviews
After reading this, the first book in "The Corps" series, I the purchased the rest three at a time. Since finishing the series, I have now read every book Griffin has published.

Griffin's character development is so thorough that you feel you have gotten to know a real people as the various series develop.

The Corp Series offers a great "behind the scenes" look at WWII in the Pacific Theatre, what it meant to the men that served and stirs the patriotic juices inside of you.

One of many fantastic books from a terrific author.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great book!, April 10 2003
By Daniel (Cincinnati, OH USA) - See all my reviews
This book kept me reading for hours on end. I could not put it down with all of the action and romance. The action was awesome! There could be no better hero than "Killer" McCoy. He adn his buddies always had interesting dialouge to keep you interested. I gave this book five stars because it a well rounded book.
