This intriguing thriller is read with passion and enthusiasm; Anna Fields is caught up in Frank Douglas's search to understand himself and the donor of his new heart. His wife, Kathleen, thinks the trauma of transplant surgery has pushed him into a mental breakdown, and she takes steps to have him committed just as he's about to solve the enigma of who his heart donor really was and how he died. Fields's pacing and vocal control help build the suspense. She easily differentiates the well-developed, likable characters, including the other woman, Rory Alexander.
