5.0 out of 5 stars Let's Look At This Story By Story, Aug 18 2004
By A Customer
Over all, this is an excellent book, but since I'm in the mood (and have the time) I'll review each story individually.

"What Dreams May Come" - Okay, a bit of a bad start. Well, there's not anything wrong with it, it just doesn't really serve a point, aside from a cameo by a character from the Stargzaer book series.

"Night Of The Vulture" - This entertaining story about the trouble the entity from the TOS episode "Day Of The Dove" can cause among a Cardassian, Founder, Vorta, and a bunch of Jem'Hadar. A very enjoyable story, particularly the parts from the entity's perspective.

"The Ceremony Of Innocence Is Drowned" - The Dominion's attack on Betazed as seen from Lwaxana Troi's perspective. Definately a must read.

"Blood Sacrifice" - Spock investigates the death of the Romulan emperor. An entertaining story, but really has nothing to do with the Romulan War aside from a few referances.

"Mirror Eyes" - The journal entries of a Romulan spy during an outbreak of a Vulcan disease. Good, but very contrived in parts.

"Twilight's Wrath" - A story of Shinzon and the Remans. Shinzon is handled much better here than in Nemesis, plus we have an awesome battle along with some very creative tactics.

"Eleven Hours Out" - I like this story about the Breen attack on Earth. But there was one thing to detract my overall enjoyment of this one, the crew of the Starfleet ship USS Columbia is the same as the space shuttle Columbia. While I'm sure the author meant this to be good natured, I found it to be in bad taste. But still, a pretty good story.

"Safe Harbours" - Enjoyable, but not the best. Plus some of the stuff about the attack on Earth doesn't line up with was said about in in the previous story.

"Field Expediancy" - I didn't like this one, but I also don't like the SCE series. If you like SCE, you'll probably like this.

"A Song Well Sung" - The story of how Captain Klag lost his arm and single-handedly defeated a group of Jem'Hadar and their Vorta. Very cool. If there's one reason to buy this book, this is it.

"Stone Cold Truths" - A very amusing story with a serious message against war running through it.

"Requital" - An excellent story about a Starfleet soldier in the aftermath of the war.
