5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Follow, April 12 2005
By A Customer
THis CD set does an excellent job of teaching Thai. The words and sentences are sounded out slowly and put into context. I found it very useful and would buy a longer program if it was offered. Better than others I have tried.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still the Best, Mar 21 2004
By atomic "atomickats" (washington, dc United States) - See all my reviews
I have found Thai to be an extraordinarily difficult language to learn and have tried quite a few of the beginning courses. This one was the first to actually give me a working knowledge of the language on an elementary level. It has proved useful as a stepping stone to other courses which had various drawbacks for the beginner but are more comprehensible with this as a backdrop. I agree with the oft repeated criticism that this course isn't long enough, but it is so much better than anything else out there for what it does offer that I would recommend starting with nothing else.

1.0 out of 5 stars Find something else., Feb 12 2004

This program has no further Pimsluer Thai learning programs beyond this. This is the only program for Thai that Pimsleur offers. Consequently, when you decide to learn more, you can not use this as a stepping stone to intermediate language level. You will have to go to another language program and start as a beginner. You will have wasted not only your money, but your time as well. You will regret buying this

2.0 out of 5 stars Great but Cut short.....
First of all, I think this is the best way to learn a new language. NOW, There are only 10 lessons that leaves you short if you want to continue. Lisez davantage

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great start, but Pimsleur needs to make a longer course.
This was a great introduction to the Thai language. Pimsleur is the best if you hate sitting at a desk to learn a new language. There is no text involved. Lisez davantage

5.0 out of 5 stars Too short, but probably the best!
I hope they can have 90 lessons (just like the Chinese, Japanese, French programme) for Thai, I like this learning method very well. Lisez davantage

3.0 out of 5 stars Pimsleur Thai is great but ...
I've used the Pimsleur courses with great success in a variety of different languages. I'm a fan of the method - no rewind; proper pronuciation; yada yada - rules in the car... Lisez davantage

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Repetition; No Need Constant Rewinding

5.0 out of 5 stars Limited, but Extremely Good
It IS extremely frustrating that the Pimsleur Thai course only lasts 4 hours total. It's certainly repetitive, but it works very well: your vocabulary will not be large, but (and... Lisez davantage

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Introduction
I used this program as a refresher before going to Thailand for a month, and found it very well structured for review and learning. A shortcoming is the length. Lisez davantage

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for starters
This is by far the best set of tapes I have found for learning to speak accurately. I have tried many tapes/cds/books/computer programs, and have always had trouble with them. Lisez davantage
