4.0 out of 5 stars A better follow-up to T2 than "Rise of the Machines", Jan 27 2004
By Zagnorch (Terra, Sol System) - See all my reviews
Although this was just one of two T2-based miniseries (the other being "Nuclear Twilight", which follows this story arc) Malibu Comics put together prior to its acquisition by Marvel, I found "Cybernetic Dawn" to be head and shoulders above anything Dark Horse had ever done with the property story-wise. In fact, I consider it to be the best Terminator tale ever told in the four-color medium. I also believe it would have made a much better third entry in the Terminator canon than "Rise of the Machines". Sadly, it just wasn't meant to be...

"Cybernetic Dawn" captures a good degree of the first two Terminator flicks' style and feel. Which isn't all that surprising to me, seeing as how a few of the situations depicted in this book are based on scenes and storyboards that James Cameron and company conceived and/or scripted for T2, but were never fully realized nor filmed. Helping things out in this collection is artwork by someone who can actually draw the likenesses of Linda Hamilton (Sarah Conner), Edward Furlong (John Connor), and other recurring T2 characters reasonably well.

If you've read this T2 adventure and found it to your liking, you'll likely enjoy the aforementioned "Nuclear Twilight", which can be found at www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0752203444/ref=cm_custrec_gl_acc/103-6214661-6319035?v=glance&s=books&n=507846
