"A heart-warming romance and a compelling storyline make this novel hard to put down" GOOD BOOK GUIDE

Product Description

The beautiful city of Venice has been Lydia's home for many years, a place where she has found peace and fulfilment. Then one day she glimpses a young man's face in the crowd that threatens to change everything. He's a heart-stopping reminder of a dreadful secret she believed she had banished to the past ...As a young child, Lydia and her sister were sent to live with grandparents they'd never even met before. It was a cruel and loveless new world for them and it forced Lydia to grow up fast. She learned to keep secrets and to trust sparingly, and through it all she was shadowed by grief and guilt. Now, twenty-eight years later, Lydia is persuaded to leave behind the safe new life she has created for herself and return to England to face the past. And maybe her future.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing at the conclusion, Dec 26 2007
This review is from: Tell It To The Skies (Paperback)
Much as I enjoyed this book for a "light read" over Christmas, I was somewhat disappointed with the last few chapters. The first two thirds of the book were intriguing as we learned about Lydia and her youth. The remainder of the book seemed to be written in a hurry and did not seem logical. Considering Noah (warning: POSSIBLE SPOILER) lived and breathed for this women, his explanation for why he failed to find her in 20 or so years was utterly implausible and out of character. This part of the book also lacked the passion between the two main characters that was so wonderfully evident at the beginning. Sadly, I was itching to get to the end of the book as I wanted it to be over. It seemed to me that the plot drove the characters rather than the characters the plot.
