its seems that you had no ending planned and then rushed it....to a unbelieveable and ridiculous ending....next time take the time to think it through.....

I have read a lot of Jodi Picoult's books and although I have found some a bit longwinded and haven't enjoyed all of them equally I was excited to read this book. There were several things that annoyed me while reading this. I didn't like the recipes thrown in before each chapter, I skipped them. There were a lot of ridiculous analogies and I didn't enjoy the writing style from time to time. The phrase "catch-22" was overused. But the worst part of the book is the ending. I HATED the ending.
SPOILER ALERT
I don't mind sad endings, but this ending didn't make me sad for the characters, it only made me sad for having wasted my time reading this book. Everything the characters went through seemed so pointless at the end. And it was so quick and sudden too! I had to check three times to convince myself that it was really the end. I was almost expecting another chapter where the author said.. just kidding, here's how it really ended. I would recommend other books by this author to my friends but I would not recommend this particular book to anyone.

As usual, Ms. Picoult has written a book that is at once deep, dark and disturbing. The story of the daughter and the parents who will go to any length to protect her is nothing short of heart-wrenching. I just thought it was so good. Another good one: Any Man: A Fictionalized Account of Something That Really Happened.

What a refreshing and interesting work of fiction. I always like Jodi Picoult's books, but this was one of the most engaging novels I have read lately.
