Detective Chief Barnaby finds intrigue, deception, and ego among the principals in a local British community theatre group. During the opening night performance of Amadeus, the leading man is murdered on stage. Hugh Ross is spectacular introducing these devious, self-centered, and sometimes off-centered characters. His vivid imagination results in a colorful narration with a Shakespearean flair. Complicated relationships and difficult personality depictions pose no problem. The tiniest details are revealed, and clues are unraveled with dramatic flair and gusto. B.J.P. © AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine--
