4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!!!!, Dec 5 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Dancing In The Dark (Paperback)
This is a very good story. I have just finished this book and it is a bit different than other Maureen Lee stories I have read as it flips back and forth from current times to the life of Millie's aunt Flo who has died and Flo's life story during the 30's and 40's. This makes a great contrast. The way Maureen Lee has interwoven the stories of the current character, Millie, and her aunt Flo is excellent. The reader connects well with both characters and the correlation between the two. I enjoyed this story as I do all Maureen Lee books. I can highly recommend this book. I can understand why it won the award it did.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent book, but a bit confusing, Jul 14 2004

This review is from: Dancing In The Dark (Paperback)
"Dancing in the Dark" by Maureen Lee, is a book with two stories happening at the same time. The book opens up with Millie Cameron being asked to clean out the apartment of a great aunt Flo who has recently died. Millie may seem at young woman with a good life, but in fact Millie and sister and brother are hiding years of abuse. As Millie clean out Flo's apartment she learns of Flo's many secrets and how they impact Millie and her family.
I have to admit that enjoyed Flo's story more than Millie's. I didn't really think much of Millie. And at time I was confused with all of the characters and why they were needed for the story. It was a decent read, but not a book that I will hang on too.
