4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent story, Sep 1 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: House By Princes Park (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. It covers the entire life of the heroine and her struggles with extreme poverty and her complete lifetime dedication to her family. It covers the years of WW2 and gives insight into what the people of Liverpool and generally Great Britain lived through. But then it goes beyone that right up to the year 2000. From one orphan birth, the family branches out which adds character to the book. The heroine Ruby, is believable, but sometimes you want to yell at her to think of herself for a change. It is a very good read. It is the first Maureen Lee book I have read. It will not be the last.
