Product Description

A heartrending tale of two sisters and their quest for a place to belong, from much-loved author Rita Bradshaw. Lily and Sarah Brown's childhood is an unhappy one. Sarah escapes by marrying Ralph Turner, a Sunderland dock worker, but Lily doesn't trust Ralph -- a dark volatile man with a hidden cruel streak. When he tries to seduce Lily on his wedding day, her worst fears are confirmed. Ralph's younger brother John is cut from a different cloth, though, and Lily is increasingly drawn to him. But just when Lily sees a future for them, a terrible incident destroys her happiness. Heartbroken, Lily agrees to accompany the family she works for as a nursemaid to New York. As Lily boards RMS Titanic little does she realise that her decision will change the course of her life for ever...

(REAL NAME)
This is a wonderful book about the lives of two sisters. Sarah marries Ralph Turner, a dock worker. Ralph is not all that he appears to be, there is a dark side to him, and Sarah quickly realizes she has made a mistake in marrying Ralph. Sarah's younger sister Lily, falls in love with Ralph's brother John. John is trying to make something of his life, and so he attends night school in the hopes of one day becoming an accountant. But tragedy strikes and Lily must leave. Lily takes on a position as a nursemaid to a family. The family plan a trip to American on board the The RMS Titanic. From this day forward the lives of the two sisters, and two brothers are never again the same. This is a wonderful book! I especially enjoyed reading about the Titanic. There was a lot of research done about the ship. If you enjoy Catherine Cookson books, you will certainly enjoy this one!
