I had the opportunity to read Brandon Massey's DARK CORNER and I was impressed. The pool of Black Authors writing horror is indeed talented but very small. As an author I feel this book could have been GREAT, but it was just shy of that distinction. I did however enjoy it immensely and I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys this genre.

....and a PROUD graduate of Jackson State Univeristy. I may be bias in my review. However, I think many would agree when I say this was a good book!!! I was looking for my first suspence/mystery book to read and I am glad I decided on this one. It through me off at first because I felt trying to implement the unreal (vampires!!) in a this book was not going to keep my attention span. Boy was I wrong!! Massey did a wonderful job on keeping you excited on what is going to happen next. Even though I have completed this book, I am still excited becasue I can not wait till his next book. Keep up the good work.

King and Koontz take two steps back, here comes Brandon! This was one of the best novels about Vampires that I've read in a long time. Massey's writing style is unique for someone so young, Dark Corners was loaded with everything I wanted to read. It had mystery, fictional history, romance, humor, and suspense. I loved how he detailed all the characters in the book and how all the people in the town were family and friends. One aspect in the book that he brings out about Kyle is how powerful the urge is for him to try and find a father he has never known, even with a warning from his mother not to. I can hardly wait for the sequel to this book.

In Dark Corner Massey puts a new spin on an evil entity, like it or not it makes for a captivating story. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read. Read more

Dark Corner was cool and good book. It's not one of my favs from Brandon Massey, that would be Thunderland of course. But Dark Corner did have good suspensful spots in the book. Read more
