Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

The follow-up to bestselling diet guide Skinny Bitch, this irreverent cookbook orders readers to toss out all their meat, eggs and dairy, and make room for nutritional yeast, seitan and something called "Bragg's Liquid Aminos" (although soy sauce will do in a pinch). The authors' philosophy is simple but rigid: in order to be skinny, one must also be vegan (and, preferably, willing to give up coffee and white sugar). Not to despair-the svelte can eat all the tofu-based fake meat and cheese they want, and follow it up with dessert-alikes such as Bitchtastic Brownies or Cheezecake. For the most part, recipes are easy and inoffensive; while a "Chicken" Parmesan Panini will fool nobody, other offerings, like Japanese Soba Noodles with Steamed Vegetables and Tofu, are perfectly satisfying. But to enjoy this cookbook in full, a reader must be content to be addressed (repeatedly) as "bitch," as in, "Who's a boring old fart now, bitch?" Confusingly, there's no nutritional information for any of the recipes, nor is there any information on the specific dietary needs of vegans-apparently, you'll need to buy Freedman and Barnouin's first book for that. (For those who haven't tried, switching to a vegan diet is difficult even with a proper guide; this book's complete lack of support should make it a real bitch.)

4.0 out of 5 stars alot of good food...., Jan 1 2008
this cookbook is the outstanding sequel to skinny bitch....and if you loved that book, you need to get this one...the recipes are pretty good...but some make a lot more then what the recipe states..eg; bitchin breakfast burrito was good but was supposed to serve 4 people it could easily serve six..unless you have a huge appetite. the sushi recipe was also good but made alot....i am only cooking for 1 person though. so a person with a couple people to feed would probably love the size of theses recipes..overall i would recommend this book as one of the better ones out there. good helthy recipes and you can't beat the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst vegan cookbook ever, Feb 24 2009
This book was a complete waste of money. The recipes are completely unimaginative. Take any cookbook and put the word 'vegan' in front of all the non-vegan ingredients and thats what this book is.
Pretty much all the recipes are combinations of processed prepackaged crap.
I haven't bothered to open it again. It's collecting dust on my book shelf.
I would have given it zero stars, but one is the lowest the scale goes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy!, Mar 19 2009

(REAL NAME)
I made the Pecan Crusted French Toast, Onion Rings, Crabby Cakes, Tabouleh, Edamame Three-Bean Salad, Dream Bars and Rice Pudding after reading a copy from my library. I loved everything, so I'm ordering the book! I found the recipes to be things that I would feed non-vegans, and there weren't too many crazy ingredients to contend with - everything was easily found at the grocery store.
